In addition to offering a suite of Telehealth Services for all patients, Progressive Institute is offering multiple free online support groups to all members of our community. Maintaining personal connections and managing through new challenges in the age of social distancing has proven to be difficult for many. We believe that human connection, whether in person or through technology, is essential to one’s sustained well-being.
To help we are offering the following online groups:
Weekly Connection and Empowerment Skills Group
Fridays, 3:00pm-3:30pm, Free of Charge, Hosted by Progressive Institute
The weekly Connection and Empowerment Skills group is available to anyone seeking guidance and skills development to help work through anxiety, stress and the handling of difficult emotions. The group combines therapeutic process with experiential activity and learning. Each session will start with a brief overview of an effective therapeutic approach to increasing self-compassion and resiliency, followed by an open group discussion, and closing with an experiential technique such as grounding or meditation.
Connections to Recovery, Virtual Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings
With face-to-face A.A. meetings largely postponed due to COVID-19, Progressive Institute will be providing virtual access to two online A.A. meetings each week to allow community members to maintain the human connection and support that is an essential aspect of maintaining sustained sobriety and wellness. We encourage those working through their recovery to join others in a regular online meeting that will reinforce the human connection and engagement experienced in past face-to-face meetings, providing the strength needed to manage through these unprecedented times.
