What is your personal definition of anxiety?
A feeling of worry or nervousness that is either driven by something specific or from the unknown. Reactions can include mild uneasiness to extreme panic which are expressed both physically and mentally.
What therapies and services are used to treat patients with anxiety?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) are all effective treatment modalities available at the Progressive Institute. After a clinical intake, the treatment team will work together to determine the best course of treatment.
How can one manage anxiety if alone? What are some suggested ways to cope in a crisis?
Some actions to take can include, but are not limited to deep breathing, reality testing, finding/creating a calming space, increasing natural supports (family/friends), and assessing if you need an increase of therapy (such as 2x/week or adding in group therapy)
