Intensive Outpatient Program
Progressive Institute offers an 8-week integrated co-occurring IOP for individuals who may be struggling with an addiction, substance use disorder or mental health diagnosis.
Our goal is to create an individualized plan to successfully integrate each person back into their community. To help individuals reach that goal, this intensive program focuses on developing recovery skills and integrating the fundamentals of wellness, goal setting, and the tools that support a substance-free life. When called for, the program can also be supplemented with other services such as therapy, medicated assisted therapy (MAT), and recovery coaching.
Our trained therapists utilize the most advanced treatment modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Mindfulness and Meditation Training. Our clinicians also utilize the 8 Dimensions of Wellness throughout the 8-week program, which include emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual wellness.
Participation in the IOP can be initiated in three ways: 1) directly from an inpatient or residential treatment facility; 2) with a direct referral from a provider; 3) by calling us directly without a referral.
We strive to accommodate as many situations and work/life schedules as we can. We offer morning and evening groups, with the choice of attending in person or virtually.
Other programs designed specifically for adolescents, families, and professionals are in development and will be available summer/fall 2022.
What Makes Progressive Institute Different?
Why are we different from other recovery programs? What makes us stand out? Our focus on brain health, functional wellness and individualized care might be reasons why:
A Focus on Brain Health
What is brain health? Brain health is creating a healthy lifestyle and learning that a healthy brain can influence the thoughts that create our actions. And our actions have consequences. At Progressive, we provide education around the impact of the brain on addiction and mental health conditions. Learning how our mind and brain systems work provides a deeper insight into recovery and can help allow healing to occur. Acceptance of how our brains work as well as knowing the tricks it plays on us can give our clients the advantage they need in recovery.
Functional Wellness
Functional Wellness is a term that can have many definitions. For us it means that our minds and bodies are grounded and balanced with our personal and professional relationships. Having an internal and external balance helps lead to a purposeful and higher functioning lifestyle. As part of this journey towards functional wellness, we delve into eight Dimensions of Wellness which emphasized the connection between good physical, mental and spiritual health. This holistic approach allows individuals to not only achieve recovery, but also a lifestyle of wellness.
Dimensions of Wellness

Coping effectively with life and creating satisfying relationships.
Environmental
Good health by occupying a stimulating environment that supports well-being.
Financial
